Hotel Am Moosfeld

A several positive impressions: 1. Location - easy to reach centre of Munich, exit from Munich also 2. Reception -polite, useful staff. Quick check in / out 3. Parking posibilities - hotel's parking or nearby streets. Easy to find parking with no payment. 4. Breakfast - very good offer. Above standard. Cleaning of tables quick. Staff is great. The price is included in price of the room. 5. Internet speed - very good for the hotel in Germany; between 45 - 55 MBps in all hotel's areas 6. Room - it is not a new hotel, but: - room was clean - bed good quality - room is good furnished - bathroom - daily changed towels, clean; visible effort to keep high cleanless standard My final conclusion - great value for money.

Single room was quite a good size with lovely outlook onto trees and big windows that open, and bed comfortable. I needed more blankets and that was attended to quickly with care. Breakfast was pretty good fresh and plentiful though I wished for more variety during my stay. Restaurant on premises quite reasonable prices and pretty good with lovely staff.

The hotel was clean, neat and modern. The room was delightful and the bathroom perfectly adequate. The bed was large as was the room. Breakfast was excellent - a mixture of continental, with the usual cereal, fruit, bread, yoghurt, cheeses, cold meats etc but also hot dishes like sausages eggs, bacon etc. The staff were particularly friendly and all spoke excellent English. The location is outside the city centre, in a quiet suburb, 700m from the Metro station. However, as we had a car, we did not use public transport. Parking is on site and free. However, if the parking area is full, there is plenty of free parking on the road outside. There are not many restaurants in the area, but the hotel has its own restaurant in the basement. It is excellent. The food was outstanding, and the ambience perfect. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Staff are friendly and all speak English. They even gave us a complimentary pina colada after our meal as a "thank you for your custom"! The swimming pool, sauna and gym are in a separate building next to the main hotel and are free. The facilities, including an outside area with loungers, is all free for guests. The pool is excellent - indoor, so not dependent on the weather, and a good size for swimming, around 1.7m deep throughout and a constant 24°C so suitable for all the family. The sauna is in a separate area accessible from the pool, and has a Finnish sauna with dry heat, as well as a less hot steam room. Plentiful towels and showers are provided free. If you are American (and not used to public nudity!), or a little shy, beware that Germans and Austrians especially, as well as many others, prefer to be completely naked in the saunas, and showers, and they are all mixed sex. So if you are unhappy about a communal shower with both men and women naked, then there is no reason why you cannot remove your swimming costume, and wrap a towel round you, and putting your costume back on to shower.

Room was comfortable and the breakfast spread was quite good! Appreciate that they were able to accommodate an early check-in. It was about 20-30 mins away (via public transport) from the famous tourist attractions. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't provide lunch options (there are alternative options nearby, so not a big deal, but online reviews get a bit confusing as this was offered prior to Covid)
